I don't use the service, but I don't see any reason why others shouldn't be allowed to.

I am President of Hastings and Roseneath Ministerial Foodbank in rural Ontario and many clients do not have their own transportation. They rely on neighbours and other food bank clients to bring them to the food bank.

Car pooling is something that should be encouraged NOT shut down by meddlesome government regulation! How sad it would be if this were to happen and but evidence of your own corruption by corporate interests.

I'm from Quebec and I'm actually using Ridesharing services such as Amigo Express and Allo-stop as passenger and driver. I've been travelling around the world and had the chance to use ridesharing in Germany, Czech Republic and Hungary. I have to say that this service deserve many people from different age such as student and adults and this sustainable service is simply amazing. It's a service where you can contribute to environment, save money because Bus companies are charging way too much in Canada and finally it's a service where you can meet great people who are concern by the future of our planet, people who love travelling and people who are here to make a change and decrease the over-consumption culture of North Americans.

According to the law excerpt in the invite to sign email the quote stated "public" transportation. As a pickupPal member I know that the vehicles being used for carpooling are privately owned. this right away should be enough to have this case thrown out. I hope it goes well for PickupPal. They offer a great service and an excellent way to help save the enviroment. If Ontario legislature dictates that one cannot help save the enviroment by carpooling then someone in that legislature has some explaining to do.

I think this is a great idea, it helps those with no cars, and those with little money come together to help eachother arrive at similar destinations. It is also a great way to help global warming, less cars.... less gas

If this is a safe way to travel, we should have the chose to travel this way if we choose.

Canada lags far behind European countries, where ride-sharing programs are successful and popular. Now that Ontario finally has such a program in the form of PickupPal, please do not shut it down.

The government wants to lower greenhouse gases but doesn't allow something like PickupPal,seems like a contradiction of terms.Sharing rides in a safe environment and getting extra cars off the road seems like the way to go!

Citizens are not to be treated like children. An Autonomous Society is a Strong Society. Enabling Organized Carpooling can only Strengthen the Economy {consider that gas prices drive up the cost of living} and will indeed Help the Environment. Dear Government, please stop valuing Big Capitalistic Business over the People you are supposed to be representing and working for. Preventing organized carpooling basically threatens our civil rights.
