Mr. Premier, I strongly urge you to exercise your jurisdiction in this case, and take the necessary action to ensure that the Province of Ontario does not lose sight of the big picture, by enacting corrective legislation immediately to free every Ontarian restrained by these archaic clauses, originally designed without sustainability in mind.

With all this new hype about saving the earth one would think that thies wrould be a great help - get your head out of the sand and do what is right - shared riding it the right thing to do and it is less damamaging to the earth - be knind to the earth let theses people share in the ability of do what is right for our nation.

While legislation usually takes time, I think the time has come to change this law immediately! It is our healthy future that the Ontario government is risking here! While I don't deny a bus company their right to protect their business, no bus company comes out to our rural area. Ride sharing is the only option we have out here - a site like PickupPal easily enables us to "find" each other as needed.

You have added HOV lanes to 400 series highways around the GTA and are planning on adding more throughout the province/country correct? Will these lanes now become useless? Seems to me that banning or restricting a company that encourages the use of a government backed idea is extremely contradictory and ignorant. Please consider the message that would be sent to Canadians by restricting this innovative and forward thinking company.

I'm a public school teacher and am taking a year of sabbatical to study. I'd like to use Pickup Pal to help me find a better way to travel back and forth to Quebec this year. I still will take the bus when need be, but this is an important option for me. Thank you for supporting the new legislation that will allow this. Kathy Hind

This coop is important in areas of ONT where public transit is lacking as in my area of Quinte. People can not get to Loyalist College from trenton and area (except via Taxi @ $20/ one way. Sharing a ride is a must here and should be incouraged (GO GREEN!)

Informal car pooling is good for so many reasons. Please expand and update the current laws to reflect this need.

For a province that is "encouraging green behaviour" this is an outrage. Lobby factors most likely at play.

This is a backward way of dealing with public transportation and a non democratic action. Freedom of movement is not to be hampered by commercial worries of private companies and other countries enjoy great carpooling. This should be developed in Canada where there are remote communities. I am native and there are very few buses that go to where I have to go. Finding someone going as close as possible to where I live is of great help and saves me time and alot of hassle of sleeping bus depots or on the streets!

Shame on the OHTB for not supporting an organization that will help reduce noxious emissions from our environment! As an Ontario Taxpayer, I firmly believe this not only negates a platform Mr. McGuinty stated in his electoral promises, but (most importantly), takes away my right to CHOOSE my method of transportation. The PV Act needs amending immediately!

With our current energy and environmental crisis programs that encourage carpooling and saving gas should be encouraged, not shut down. Buses are not always the cheapest and most feasible way for people to get to there destination. OHTB, please keep PickupPal open!
