Prohibitting members of the public from organizing carpools impinges on our freedoms and forces us to patronize particular businesses such as private bus companies. |

Carpooling just makes good environmental sense and stopping it makes no sense at all! |

If buses had routes in come particular areas, maybe we would use there services! When they don't stop at a particular place, carpooling is the next best, most convenient and eco friendly way! |

Obviously pickuppal is a very important and innovative approach to reducing our use of fossil fuels, while promoting a socially responsible use of private vehicles. Please do not let the private bus company lobbies shut it down. |

It's green, community-friendly, and makes absolute sense. Please don't stop people from communicating in public for the purposes of saving the planet. |

This is an ideal method to encourage grassroots and citizen-based action to help reduce green house gas emissions. |

Many people from my town commute daily to Toronto area. Pickuppal offers large reductions in energy consumption. |

Such sites are great for the actual economy and help your citizens to afford traveling between cities for affordable prices while permitting an economy on fuel consumption. Additionally, all these benefits will help the environment. |

Mr. Premier, It is so clearly the will of the people of Ontario and Canada that governments across the country show leadership in the fight against global warming and the destruction of our ecosystems. I ask you to show leadership in this matter and stand up for the people who voted for you rather than pandering to special interest groups who are simply trying to eliminate the freedom of choice for their customers. |

Personal comment: Trentway-Wagar has nothing to lose by promoting this effort to shut down PayPal, while the public has a great deal to lose. Please stand by the public interest, though the threat to the bus company may be real. Regards Jamie Ker |

People who break carpooling laws (eg. running vans on busy routes) should be prosecuted, not websites making LEGAL carpooling easier! |

any attempt to stop ride share is a direct sabatoge to the green agenda. this system is doing wonders to help the environment. please keep it going and GROWING. there are far too many single driver cars clogging our roads. another bonus is reduction in congestion. keep TORONTO MOVING by letting us help each other to get where we need to go. thank you. |

I think that PickupPal is an amazing idea. I sometimes drive hours to go to a race and always have spare seats in my vehicle. I don't understand why the transportation board would want this to shut down. It makes their lives easier when less cars are on the road, which leads to less accidents and a cleaner environment. It's not like taxi's are losing out on money or anything, we would just drive ourselves. This is a great way to get to know other runners and make friends for life. I don't see how this is any different from carpooling to cork, why don't they close down those parking lots too? |

For some of us, pick up pal is the safest cheapest option. I live in Toronto and my Fiance lives in Montreal. Pick up pal has made our relationship possible. I feel incredibly guilty driving the 500km alone in my car wasting money and increasing my carbon print. These services are have been around in Europe for at least 5 years. Why don't we Canadians get it... |

Hellz yeh! When the government would rather stop us from making little differences for the environment than lose a few bucks in transportation... Well, I can only shake my head. It shouldn't be like this. |
