PickupPal is an excellent environmentally conscious option for those who are actively making a difference. I find the possibility of shutting down PickupPal by the govt simply inexcusable.

The issue at hand is a "no-brainer" in these times of renewed energy conservation practices and, ultimately, care for the environment. The complaint appears petty and out-dated.

Its amazing to me that the government would even consider shutting this down. Is this government really committed to helping the environment??? Everyone wants "change" but everyone is too afraid to do it. Let PickUp pal continue .

The opportunity exists for PickupPal to make a significantly positive environmental impact in Ontario, North America and the world. Outdated legislation should not handcuff those organizations who are key enablers of the eco-movement that Ontarians embrace so readily today. PickupPal Partners such as the Clean Air Foundation, Virgin Mobile, Subaru/Trisport Triathlon, Mitel Corporation and Cisco Ottawa Bluesfest have all voted enthusiastically for PickupPal by including it as a key green component of their events. This is only the beginning of a very massive shift in Ontario and elsewhere.

As a former student who used to rely on ride sharing with other students to get home as often as I could, shutting down Pickup Pal limits the ability of students to find economical rides home.

It's puzzling to me why anyone would be against a practice, organization or community that is helping to make the world a better place to live by being ECO friendly, especially in this time where we are constantly reminded of the damage we have done over the years with harmful emissions and global warming. Everyone needs to do what they can to protect this earth - last time i check we have not found a new planet - and the Rideshare initiative is one of the better ideas i've seen thus far.

Hon. Dalton McGuinty, I can't reiterate enough the value organizations such as Pickuppal.com contribute to our environment and society. Our family is committed to reducing our collective carbon footprints and during these times of rising fuel prices, it makes more sense than ever to have a friendly, trustworthy community such as Pickuppal.com provide this kind of a service. Please support Pickuppal.com in Ontario and allow it to continue this worthwhile service for Ontario!!!

Being British, I've always thought of Canada as a progressive, modern country with progressive, modern legislation. The restrictions on ridesharing and carpooling in Ontario are quite the opposite and seem to be a bizarre, out-dated restriction on the freedom of Ontario's residents.

As our country and government move forward into the 21st century, I believe it is important that we recognize when it is time for a change.

Mr. McGuinty, it takes courage and commitment to lead a great province like Ontario. I ask you not as resident of Ontario to change the current legislation but as a parent not unlike yourself, knowing that it is up to us to protect the environment for our children's sake. As you know the residents of Ontario are a proud and resourceful bunch and working together we can make a difference to stop climate change. We need you to be our leader and do the right thing and change these restrictive carpooling and ride sharing laws.
